- Cairo

This seven-day journey brings together Egypt’s two great experiences: the monuments of Cairo and a classic cruise along the Nile.
You begin in Cairo, where your Egyptologist takes you to the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the complete treasures of Tutankhamun. Then you fly south to Luxor and board your Nile cruise for four nights.
From the deck, the river does the rest. You explore Karnak and Luxor Temple on the East Bank, and the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut on the West Bank. As you sail south, you stop at the Temple of Horus at Edfu and the riverside temple of Kom Ombo, shared by two gods. In Aswan, you visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the island Temple of Philae. Between sites, you watch the villages, palm groves and desert cliffs pass by the way travelers have seen them for centuries.
Your guiding, airport assistance and transfers are private throughout. On the cruise, you share the ship with other guests, but every visit ashore is with your own Egyptologist, at your own pace. Domestic flights between Cairo, Luxor and Aswan are included, so the long distances take hours rather than days.
Nile cruises sail from Luxor on fixed weekdays, so we plan your arrival in Cairo around the sailing date. Tell us your preferred travel dates and we will confirm the best start day.
