Best time to visit
When to go
October to April is the comfortable season, with daytime temperatures between 20 and 28°C and clear skies. December and January are the coolest and the busiest — book pyramid tours early. Summer runs hot, often above 38°C, so we start at sunrise and finish before midday. Ramadan changes opening hours and traffic patterns; we plan around it rather than avoid it, and the city is at its most atmospheric in the evenings.

Good to know
- "Entry to the Great Pyramid's interior is a separate ticket and sells out — ask us to secure it in advance
- Cairo traffic is unpredictable; allow an hour between the pyramids and central Cairo
- Bring cash in small notes for site staff, and carry a scarf for mosque visits
- Photography inside the Grand Egyptian Museum is allowed, but tripods are not
- Start at Giza before 8am — the light is better and the coach groups arrive around ten"
