Three Pyramids Dahabiya
About your Nile cruise.
Most people see the Nile from a ship carrying a hundred and fifty people. This one carries sixteen, with eleven crew, two lateen sails and a shallow hull that lets it moor at a sandbank island for the night instead of a concrete dock.
You land at Aswan in the morning and we take you straight out — the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae on its island — before boarding at two. Three nights follow on the river, and at the end Luxor: Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut.
In between is the part nobody else sells. Daraw, where camels walked up the Forty Days Road from Sudan are still sold in a market that was never arranged for visitors. El Ramady Island for an evening ashore. Gebel El Silsila, where the stone for Karnak was cut out of the cliffs. Mornings under sail from six, with the deck to yourself.
Your sightseeing is private from the first hour to the last — your own licensed Egyptologist, your own vehicle, your pace at every temple.
We are based in Luxor, where this journey ends. If anything needs sorting on the way, you are dealing with the people who live here.

Frequently asked.
As booked by the cabin, you share the boat with the other guests — at most sixteen of them, with eleven crew. That is a different proposition entirely from a cruiser carrying a hundred and fifty. Your sightseeing is private either way: your own Egyptologist, your own vehicle, your group alone at every temple. The whole boat can also be chartered — eight cabins, up to sixteen guests — and on a charter the route can be shaped around you rather than fixed. Tell us how many you are and we will quote it.
Sixteen guests at most, in six panoramic cabins and two suites, with eleven crew. A standard Nile cruiser carries 120 to 150. That single ratio explains most of the difference in how the two feel.
In the morning. Boarding is at two in the afternoon and the Aswan sightseeing happens before it, so a morning flight or the overnight train both work. If you can only land later, we will move Aswan to the end of the trip instead — just tell us when you book.
No. It is a full day from Aswan and cannot be fitted into the boarding morning. If you want it, add a night in Aswan before the cruise and we will arrange the whole thing — by road or by air.
Dahabiyas do not pass the Esna lock on this route. Esna is under an hour from Luxor by road and the transfer is included, so you disembark after breakfast and are at Karnak the same afternoon.
Boarding every Friday from Aswan. Eight cabins and one departure a week means dates are the binding constraint — tell us yours as early as you can.
