Four days from Aswan to Luxor, with three nights on a traditional wooden sailing boat in between.
Your journey begins in Aswan, where your private Egyptologist takes you to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries, and the island Temple of Philae. At midday you board your dahabiya, a traditional sailing boat with two lateen sails and only a few cabins.
Large Nile cruisers carry more than a hundred guests and moor at crowded docks. A dahabiya carries a small group, sails with the wind and the current, and ties up at quiet islands and villages. Over three nights you visit Daraw, with its market and camel traders, the double temple of Kom Ombo, the ancient quarries of Gebel Silsila and the Temple of Horus at Edfu. On Bisaw Island you walk through the farms and fish with local fishermen.
On the last day you disembark at Esna and continue to Luxor for the highlights of both banks: the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut on the West Bank, and Karnak and Luxor Temple on the East Bank.
Your own private Egyptologist travels with you for the whole journey, from the first temple in Aswan to the last in Luxor. All meals and soft drinks on board are included.
This journey sails on a traditional dahabiya, not a cruise ship. The boat is shared with other guests in its few cabins, while your Egyptologist, sightseeing and transfers remain private throughout. The final boat is confirmed with your booking based on your travel dates.
A traditional Nile sailing boat with two lateen sails and a small number of en-suite, air-conditioned cabins with large windows onto the river. Days are spent on the shaded upper deck, which serves as lounge, dining room and viewing platform, with a maximum of 20 guests on board.

A traditional Nile sailing boat with two lateen sails and a shallow hull, carrying only a small group of guests. It sails slower than a cruise ship, moors at islands and villages, and stops at sites larger ships cannot reach.
Yes. Your own licensed Egyptologist joins you on board and stays with you for the whole journey. Other guests share the boat, but every temple and village visit is guided privately for your group, at your own pace.
Meals are included as listed for each day of the itinerary. When onboard, meals are served in the cruise restaurant according to the sailing schedule.
