What this service is — and what it is not
This is a private driver and vehicle with temple stops built into the schedule. It is not a guided tour. Entrance tickets are not included and there is no Egyptologist accompanying you.
That is deliberate, and it is why the price is what it is. Most people booking this route want the transfer they were taking anyway, with time to walk around two temples on the way — not a full guided excursion. You buy your own tickets at each gate and explore at your own pace, and your driver waits.

Kom Ombo — the first stop
Heading north from Aswan, Kom Ombo comes first, less than an hour into the drive. It stands directly on the Nile bank, which makes the approach memorable in itself.
The temple is unusual in plan: dedicated to two gods at once and mirrored down its central axis, so every hall, corridor and sanctuary is duplicated left and right. A small building beside it holds mummified crocodiles recovered from the surrounding necropolis.
Edfu — the second stop
Edfu comes later, roughly two thirds of the way to Luxor.
The Temple of Horus survived almost intact, buried under sand for centuries and excavated in the nineteenth century. Its roof is still on, its pylon still stands to full height, and its inner chambers are still dark. For most visitors it gives the clearest possible picture of what an Egyptian temple actually looked like when it was in use — something the ruined sites cannot show you.
Travel permits — included, and handled for you
Transfers that cross a governorate boundary in Egypt require a travel permit arranged in advance. Aswan to Luxor crosses one.
We handle it. The permit, the road tolls and the checkpoint formalities are all included in the price you are quoted — nothing extra to pay and nothing for you to arrange.
What we need is passport details for every traveller, sent at least 24 hours before you travel. Permits cannot be issued at the roadside, so a booking made too late to arrange one is a booking we cannot run.
Timing
This is a private transfer, so the day runs on your schedule rather than a fixed departure. Temple days start in the morning to give you proper time at both sites and reach Luxor comfortably, and we agree the pickup time with you when you book.
You are not on a group timetable at the temples either. Your driver waits while you take as long as you want at each one.

Luxor's hotels sit on both sides of the river, and the West Bank is a crossing further out. Some operators quietly add a surcharge for it. We do not — the price is the same wherever you are staying.
