Your day begins with an early private pickup from your hotel, Nile cruise or another agreed location in Luxor. Travel north through the Nile Valley in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle with your licensed Egyptologist guide. Your first major stop is Abydos, one of ancient Egypt's most important religious centers and traditionally associated with the cult of Osiris, god of the afterlife. Explore the magnificent Temple of Seti I, famous for its beautifully preserved reliefs, detailed carvings and the celebrated Abydos King List, which provides an important record of ancient Egyptian rulers. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Osireion, an unusual underground-style monument associated with the religious traditions of Abydos. Continue to Dendera, home to the spectacular Temple of Hathor, one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt. Admire its enormous columns, richly decorated walls and beautifully preserved astronomical ceiling.

Your Egyptologist will explain the temple's connection with Hathor, the goddess of love, music, motherhood and joy, as well as the religious symbolism represented throughout the complex. Depending on site access and your interests, there may also be time to explore additional areas of the Dendera complex, including the rooftop chapels and other preserved structures. This is a long archaeological day, but the private format gives you greater flexibility than a shared group tour. You travel directly between the sites in your private vehicle, have your own Egyptologist throughout the sightseeing program, and can spend your time focusing on the monuments that interest you most. Lunch is not included in the standard price. Your guide can arrange a suitable restaurant stop during the journey, allowing you to choose whether you would like lunch. At the end of the day, relax during the return journey to Luxor, with private drop-off at your hotel, Nile cruise or agreed location.
