Best time to visit
When to go
Hurghada works year-round. March to May and September to November are the sweet spots — warm water, comfortable air temperatures and calmer seas. Summer is hot on land but the sea stays inviting, and the wind that picks up between June and August is what makes the coast a kitesurfing destination. Winter is mild and sunny, though the water cools to around 22°C and a wetsuit helps.

- Book boat trips for early morning, when the sea is flattest
- The Luxor day trip is a long one; leaving before 5am makes it comfortable rather than punishing
