Best time to visit
When to go
Diving and snorkelling are good year-round. March to May and September to November give the best balance of air and water temperature. Summer is hot on land, often above 40°C, but the sea is at its warmest. Winter days are pleasant at around 22°C, though the water drops to roughly 21°C and evenings get cool — worth knowing if you plan the overnight climb up Mount Sinai.

- Bring a wetsuit or hire one between December and March
- The Mount Sinai climb starts around midnight to reach the summit for sunrise
