Experience the beauty, calm, and romance of Luxor from the water with a relaxing felucca ride on the Nile River. Step aboard a traditional Egyptian sailing boat and drift gently along the currents of the world’s longest river as you admire some of the most magical views in Upper Egypt.
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful break from sightseeing, a romantic sunset sail, or a family-friendly adventure, this experience offers an unforgettable way to see Luxor’s skyline, the Theban mountains, and riverside life — all from the deck of a handcrafted sailboat.
Your tour begins with optional pickup from your hotel, Nile cruise, or designated meeting point in Luxor. A comfortable air-conditioned vehicle will transfer you to the east bank sailing dock where your private felucca awaits.
Meet your friendly Nubian captain and board a traditional wooden felucca — Egypt’s iconic wind-powered sailboat. Your guide will help you get comfortable and offer a brief introduction to the history of feluccas and their role on the Nile.
Begin sailing along the Nile at a gentle pace. Enjoy unobstructed views of:
The Luxor Temple and Corniche on the East Bank
The Theban Mountains and farmland on the West Bank
Daily life on the river: fishermen, farmers, water buffalo, and traditional homes
Date palms, banana groves, and birds flying overhead
The boat glides silently — powered only by the wind — offering a peaceful and unforgettable connection with nature and ancient landscapes.
If you choose a sunset felucca, you’ll witness the sun slowly dip behind the hills of the West Bank, casting a golden glow on the temples and the river. This is the most romantic and photogenic moment of the ride.
Upon request, your felucca can dock at Banana Island, a small Nile island where you can take a short walk among banana plantations, see local wildlife, and enjoy a glass of fresh juice (entrance & juice not included).
Fresh Egyptian mint tea served onboard
Light picnic or lunch/dinner box
Nubian music or storytelling by the captain (upon request)
After your relaxing sail (approx. 1–2 hours), return to the dock where your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel or cruise ship.
